Children

As parents, your number one priority will be your children. It is not surprising, therefore, that they will often be your biggest concern when your relationship breaks down. We believe that a breakdown in a relationship does not have to cause distress to your children. By placing your children’s interests at the forefront of our work, we seek to work with you to agree arrangements for their future care.

As parents, guardians or family members, you may also have parental responsibility. With parental responsibility comes the duty to consult and agree with other persons who have parental responsibility on major decisions that will impact upon your children’s welfare. These may include, but are by no means limited to, the following:-

  • When you take your children abroad on holiday (CLICK HERE for more information on the pitfalls to avoid by Muna Saleem)
  • What school your children attend;v
  • If you are contemplating a move abroad with your children;
  • The medical treatment of your children;
  • The religion of your children.

With considerable expertise in advising individuals in children disputes, we are proud to provide straight forward and practical advice to minimise the emotional upset to you and your children. We are able to assist you at every stage of the process from initial advice to preparation for Court proceedings.As Resolution members, we will always strive in the first instance to reach an agreement that is in the children’s best interests outside of the Court forum.
